Papeete, le 03 septembre 2010: C'est donc le hawaiien Andy Irons qui a remporté aujourd'hui la finale de la Billabong Pro ave 14.67 points. Il a battu le triple champion de l' ASP World, CJ Hobgood qui lui a marqué 8.300 points.
Irons avait auparavant battu Kelly Slater en demie finale, alors que J Hobgoods avait battu le réunionais Flores.

Le podium final est donc ainsi constitué:
1er Andy Irons ( Hawaii)
2ème :CJ Hobgoods (USA)
3ème : Kelly Slater ( USA)

IMAGE CAPTION: Kelly Slater (USA) taking off on a great Teahupoo wave in his quarter final of the Billabong Pro Tahiti. Slater negotiated this take off superbly, pulled into a huge barrel and scored the events only perfect 10 point ride. Slater finished third in the event overall, moving to 2nd place on the 2010 ratings behind Jordy Smith of South Africa.
